More Ready than Not

Just over the past two weeks or so, it has started to sink in that I am due this month. Two weeks and five days to be exact. And even though I know that first babies often come about a week late, I have heard plenty of stories of babies coming early...so I know that it could happen any time.

So I thought it was about time to start getting some things ready for our third baby's arrival!

I sorted through all of Israel's clothes (from only 8 or 9 months ago!) that we stored at my parents' house to see what will work for this baby, and I brought some of them up here to Michigan. (I will be delivering here in Michigan.)

I also packed my bag for the hospital. (Thanks so much to many of you who gave me ideas of things to pack on facebook!)

And I packed the kids' bag to go to Bluffton. When I go into labor, my mom will drive up to Michigan and (after I have the baby) take our other two kids home for a few days.

And I made a list of last minute items that will need to be thrown into the kids' bag,

and I packed their diaper bag for my mom to take.

I also typed out a detailed schedule for both Ivy and Israel so that my mom will know exactly what needs to happen when with both of them. (Thanks for humoring me, Mom, and always following my schedules! I really appreciate it!!) Or if Rachel needs to come down to watch our kids until my mom can get here, she will know exactly where both kids are in their schedule. (Can you tell I'm in love with Babywise?)

I also did all of the rest of my homework for our 1 Corinthians class ahead of time so that I won't have to worry about doing any of it if I would have the baby while we're still in classes here.

Aaron also let me order a hat on Etsy with the baby's name on it. (I must have caught him in a moment of weakness, because he is adamant about the fact that we really don't need anything for this baby! Which is true...we have all of Israel's clothes and all of the neccessary baby items from both kids!) It should be arriving this week. The lady that made it sent me a picture of it, and I absolutely love it! I can't wait for him to wear it.

So...now I feel a little more ready. And the baby is starting to run out of room, so hopefully he's getting ready, too! His movements have definitely slowed some (probably because he is so squished), but now when he does kick and move, it almost always feels like he is hitting my ribs, or a vital organ, or a nerve. Not the most comfortable, but that's ok :) Here are a few pictures of the baby and me from the past three weeks.

So...whenever you're ready, baby! We're ready for you! (I think.)

Good job organizing. I guess I rubbed off on you a little. We are also getting more anxious by the day.
