Michigan Blueberries

On Labor Day, we went to a blueberry-picking farm with Nathan and Rachel's family and another family from here at New Tribes. It was a HOT day, but a lot of fun! And we got six pounds of delicious blueberries for about ten dollars!

Aaron probably picked about five of the six pounds that we brought home. He is a more diligent worker than me. By far. I picked about a pound.

Ivy was so excited to help pick blueberries,

and she faithfully carried around her little bucket,

but none of the blueberries she picked actually made it into the bucket.

They all made it into her mouth.

And lots of leaves made it into Israel's mouth. Go figure...he didn't like the blueberries, but loved the leaves.

Abel hung out in the back of the double stroller, being a little sweetie, as usual. The kids did so great, even though they were all three dripping with sweat by the time we left.

The blueberries made it from the plants,

 to our buckets,

to the sink (where they took FOREVER to wash and get all of the little stems and leaves out),

to cookie sheets in the freezer,

to bags in the freezer.

A fun, productive, delicious, and relaxing Labor Day.

Looks like a productive day. I would love to actually see how many Ivy ate.

Forgot to sign my name again. I hate it when I do that.

I know, Dad...I bet she ate a LOT! We were there for probably an hour and a half, and she was eating them the whole time :)
