1. Remind them of their behavior expectations before leaving the vehicle. I have no idea if this actually helps or not, but it makes me feel better to remind them. :)
2. Park right by the cart return.
3. Load the kids into the cart straight from the car. Don't try to walk into the grocery store with all three and then get them into a cart.
4. Get non-breakable, interesting items first. These items will entertain the kids while you get the rest of the stuff.
5. Put fragile items under the cart, where the kids can't get to them. (And if you are very observant, you probably noticed that, yes, the bleach did leak out onto the eggs. Note to self for next time: Put the bleach under the cart as well.) :)
5. When the cart gets too full to have two kids in the back, let the most responsible of the three kids walk. Do not let two of them walk. It is a disaster.
6. Take toys.
7. Just smile cheerfully at people who look at your like you are crazy. And when people inevitably say, "Wow...you've got your hands full," just answer with, "Yep! But in a very good way. I'm very blessed."

you make motherhood look easy!
Ha! Funny, Alisha ;)...I was actually always SO scared to go to the grocery with all three (by myself) until this summer. But for some reason it's not as bad as I thought it would be! I actually think it's kind of fun :)
If I have a LOT of groceries to get, though, I still wait for Aaron to be home. :)
You are the only woman on Earth who makes me want to have kids when I get older. I have no idea how you guys do what you do so well. I have so much admiration and respect for both you and Aaron!
--Bailey Gerber :)
Jill, you are remarkable!
Terri
Good job and great ideas on how to survive, Jill...and just for the record, there is no way I would have accepted the eggs, since the bleach bottle was not tightly sealed!!! But, that's just me:)love you and again, great job!!
mom:)
You really should write book. Really.
Grandpa Jim
I can relate to picking the same parking spot :) So...why don't you do the car carts? I haven't done them yet because we're still managing with two - but some people swear by those!
