Partying with Israel

We celebrated Israel's birthday a couple weeks ago when we were still in Indiana. First, we had a party with Aaron's family. Aaron's mom did a monster-themed party for Israel, and she made him the most adorable cake!

He poked at his piece with one finger for a long time,

but eventually dug in a little more.

He loved his balloons

and his cards,

but most of all, he had a lot of fun tearing into his presents! He loves to destroy things...he was probably thinking, "Finally, I can destroy something and not get in trouble for it." :)

He got some adorable pajamas that matched his monster party, and some other great presents, too!

A few nights later, we celebrated his birthday with my side of the family. I was in charge of the cake for this one, so that meant we got it at Walmart. :) Maybe someday when the kids are a little older, I will have time to make them cute cakes!

We got a jungle-themed cake,

and Israel even got his own little cake to dig into!

We got some jungle-themed hats

and decorations, too.

Israel was pretty excited about his cake this time.

He started with the one-finger poke again,

but then stuck in his whole hand,

and then really started digging in.

I would say he enjoyed it!

My parents were there, as well as Nathan and Rachel's family. Israel's great-grandparents and great-aunt Susie also came!

He had fun opening presents again,

and even though he was feeling pretty under the weather, he loved his tractor from my parents!

Thanks to everyone who made Israel's first birthday wonderful! He is blessed to have such great extended family!
