Working with John Piper

Ok, so we didn't actually work with John Piper. But we were both at the same event, trying to encourage college students toward the same goal.

The other night, we loaded up in the NTBI van and headed to a church about 45 minutes away where John Piper was going to be giving a message entitled "Don't Waste Your Life" to a group of over a thousand college students. We went with a really great group...

(sorry, Josh, I didn't get a picture of you!)

and set up a New Tribes Mission table outside the auditorium where John Piper was giving his message.

We got to hand out lots of information about New Tribes Mission and talk to many people about missions and unreached people groups. It was incredibly encouraging and a lot of fun. We hope and pray that a lot of the people we talked to will go into missions.

And we did get to hear John Piper's message as well.

And after the message was over and John Piper was leaving, he walked right by me...like two feet away. I REALLY wanted to get a picture with him, but he had a bodyguard-type guy with him, moving him along very quickly...so I didn't ask. :)

We ended the evening with a van-ride home filled with stories of all of the different people we had talked to and exciting things people had said about being passionate for missions and the lost. And then we had ice cream together.

All in all, a really, really great evening.

Glad it worked out. Too bad you couldn't have met him. That would have been very interested.

Wonderfull! Wish I could have been there for that. Pastor Chad quotes alot from ( Reverend - Pastor ) Piper. I am also thinking that it was his brother, Peter, that picked a peck of pickled peppers.
