Times Twenty

Every year, the people who attend our church here in Michigan (Union Gospel Chapel) have a food drive to collect food for all of the married couples and families who are in training here at New Tribes Bible Institute.

It is not a big church. Actually...it's tiny. About 35-40 people attend.

This is a picture of the food that they collected for our family. Just our family.

There are 20 couples/families here at NTBI. That means that the tiny congregation of UGC collected 20 times this much food for us.

I don't know that we have ever met a group of people so amazingly generous, selfless, and giving.

And these potatoes? They were hand-picked by an older lady in the church. Last Sunday when I asked her how she was doing, she said, "Well...kind of sore. Been out picking potatoes a few days this past week." I didn't know then that she was picking these potatoes for us. So multiply these 35 potatoes that our family received by the 20 families, and it looks like she picked around 700 potatoes for us.

We are so thankful that we decided to attend this church last year. It has been a blessing every single Sunday. I don't know if anyone from UGC reads this blog, but if you do, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. We are humbled by you. You are an example to us, and we hope to be growing toward having selfless love, just like all of you!

So humbling! When we got home tonight, we were shocked by all the grocery bags on our kitchen floor...soooo generous. And the story about the lady and the potatoes is amazing, too!
