What are the Chances??

I was doing something in the kitchen the other day, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw Israel climb up onto our rocking chair in the living room. He then reached way over to the end table and grabbed something with both hands. It was Aaron's open water bottle, which was mostly full of water. When I finally realized what he was grabbing, I knew it was too late for me to try to run and grab the water bottle from him before he spilled it all. He was already holding it precariously in mid-air while trying to stay balanced on the chair. I heard it hit the floor (as I was expecting), so I walked in to see just how many towels were going to be needed to clean it up.

When I got over to Israel, he was staring down at the bottle he had dropped.

I looked down at it too. How in the world had it landed like this???

Only a little bit of water had splashed out before it landed straight down on the floor, trapping the water inside.

I think we'll have Israel buy our lottery tickets for us in the future. Just joking. Because, you know, we don't gamble. But if we did...then yes, Israel would definitely be our ticket-buyer.

that is pretty amazing!

this reminds me of a science experiment (and i just tried it with a scrap of copypaper). take about a 1/2 glass of water, wet the top rim of the glass and place a piece of paper on top. press the paper onto the wet rim. !!do this next step over a bowl or sink!! hold the paper firmly onto the rim and quickly flip the glass over. you can remove your hand from the paper and for a short time the paper will hold the water in the glass. =) (perhaps you could reverse the experiment and slide a filecard under the water-bottle next time!)

tricksters have been known to leave the 1/2-full glass on a table, slide out the paper and leave this for an unsuspecting person. =( so beware the next time you are clearing a banquet!

sorry i got so wordy. glad you didn't have a big mess to clean-up.
