We are Officially...

...on the waiting list! And we couldn't be more excited.

Here's the rundown of our adoption process thus far and where we are currently:

May--Aaron and I decided we want to adopt again. We announced it with this post. And then I explained the reasons we decided to adopt with this post.

June--We began the paperwork, police checks, fingerprinting, etc. for the adoption.

July--I redid our profile book (the book that the birthmoms will look at to see if they want to choose us.) We kept working on all the paperwork.

August--We met with our adoption caseworker for our homestudy update. I did a brief update with some FAQ's on this post. And shared some more of my thoughts in this post. We also moved during this month, so the adoption paperwork kind of took a backseat for a few weeks.

September--We received a rough draft of our homestudy, looked it over, and sent it back to our caseworker. We also took some new pictures to include in our profile book. We ordered copies of our profile book. I started filling out grant applications.

early-October--We received our final homestudy. We mailed it to the adoption agency we are using this time in Missouri along with our application.

October 14--We were accepted to the agency and put on the official waiting list!!

So now there is literally NOTHING LEFT for us to do. Except wait.

We could be chosen by the first birthmom who sees our profile, or we could wait a couple of years to get chosen. We just have no idea! We are so thankful that God knows, though. It's very comforting to know He is in control.

It feels very good to be in this place...everything on our end is done. We can just rest and wait and prepare for a newborn. :) We can't wait to see how our third adoption story will unfold! Thanks to all of you for caring about us through this journey.

You have such a gift of explaining things. Not going though it myself, I'm often confused by all the adoption jargon :)

So excited for you!!!

Glad things are progressing well. Hopefully it will be a low stress, close adoption.
