God's grace. God's mercy. God's forgiveness. Food. Drinking water. A home. Clothing. So many loved ones. A washer and dryer. A dishwasher. Freedoms. Education. Literacy. Hot water. Health. Church family. Our van. Money. Technology. The Bible. Adoption. A bathtub. Coffee. My gifts and abilities. Grocery stores. Heat. Air conditioning. An amazing, kind, godly, strong husband.
And these three.
Oh how thankful I am to be their mom. To have the privilege of reading them stories, checking on them during the night, fixing their meals, changing their diapers, coloring with them, and teaching them songs and Bible verses.
I am so thankful that we have The Word accessible in our language so that I can teach it to these three.
I am so thankful that we have laws in this country that allow me to openly talk about God to them.
I am so thankful that these three have the opportunity to hear the Gospel.
My heart today is so thankful for these three. But I am also heartbroken for the tribal lady who cares about her children just as much as I do, but who has no understanding of God, so she cannot teach them about Him. She has no ability to read or write...and even if she did, there is no Bible in her language, so she couldn't teach her children the Gospel message.
I'm thankful that God sees fit to use unworthy, undeserving people like me to go tell that tribal lady about Himself. I'm so thankful that God uses His Church--people like me and you--to spread the Good News...what a privilege it is to be a part of the Great Commission.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Thanks be to God alone.
