Mini Vacation

This summer has been kind of crazy, starting with the birth of Abel, then moving home to Indiana, Aaron going back to his old job for about eight weeks, and now packing back up to move back to Michigan in a week. That's why it was so refreshing and just fun to go away for a weekend! My grandpa and grandma wanted to take our whole family to a hotel for the weekend for a relaxing, low-key vacation. We had so much fun!

We went out for supper at Logan's

and Cracker Barrel,

played cards,

went swimming,

hung out by the pool,

ate lots of snacks (including my grandma's famous chocolate cookies),

and went to Yo-yo's for the first time! (Leah has been talking it up so much that I was very excited to try it! And she is right...it is SO good!)

The huge cups they give you are very deceiving, though...Aaron filled his up, and it ended up being a LOT more than he expected!

My grandparents also took us all to the zoo.

One perk of all three of our kids being so close in age: all three were free! :)

Ivy loved the animals that were behind glass,

but she was a little nervous about the giraffe that wasn't behind glass :)

She also loved getting to spend so much time with her grandparents,

and she gave navigating with the zoo map a try. :)

Israel looked at some of the animals, mildly interested...

but he was probably more interested in trying to reach out of his stroller and pull blades of grass and plants as we walked by. :)

He also slept in his stroller a lot of the morning. I loved his little feet sticking out.

Abel was SO good the whole day. Have I mentioned before that he is sweet?

It was also fun that the Olympics were on this weekend. Since we don't have a TV, we wouldn't have watched any of them if we were just at home. Ivy and Israel were both just enthralled by the TV...they have never really watched one before!

On Monday before we came home, we went to Chuck E. Cheese's.

It was my first time there in probably 15 or 20 years! Our kids had fun, and we came home with a couple of cute souvenirs.

My birthday was this weekend, too, and I loved spending it with my amazing husband,

my three darlings,

and the rest of my family!

Thanks, Grandpa and Grandma, for a really great weekend!
