While We Wait

So our baby still isn't here yet. His/her birth mom is now five days overdue. She has an appointment tomorrow, so maybe we'll find out a little more as to the timing of the birth. (or maybe not!)

Even though we were sad to miss some family Christmas celebrations back home this weekend, we are seriously LOVING this time of just relaxing and waiting for the birth. It's so strange to be here at the MTC and not be thinking about classes and homework and work detail and all of that. (It was also so fun to FaceTime our family at their Christmas gatherings!)

We're soaking up the time with our family of five before we turn into a family of six!

We've had visits from neighbors who brought us yummy goodies (Thanks, Lizzy!),

done some shopping down at Mission Barrel (basically a ongoing garage sale here at the MTC where everything is free. Since most everyone goes overseas from here, people are always getting rid of stuff! We found this "MK" hat for Israel...he loves it :)),

made snowflakes to decorate our house,

and ornaments to decorate our tree,

the kids made cards for the baby's birth mom,

Ivy learned how to write her name,

we made Christmas cookies,

and hung out with some other great people who are staying here at the MTC over break.

We really are just resting and content...knowing that we could be called any minute and be told that the birth mom is in labor...knowing that she may or may not sign the papers (from all indications so far, it seems that she will, but anything can happen)...knowing that despite a very different Christmas than we had planned, this time with our little family is a huge blessing.

We'll be sure to update you all when our little one is here! Could be tonight...or next week...who knows? :)

Tell Ivy good job on learning to write her name.

Ivy's 'y's look exactly like Mylin's! Hopefully that's a good sign :) So thankful that you guys have a small window of time in your life of relaxing - that seems to be rare! Merry Christmas, friends
